How can he miss someone he never knew?

And what is he supposed to do with all the feelings that come with missing something he never had?

Through Johnny's journey, The Letter gently explores grief, love, absence, memory, and the complicated emotions children may experience when someone important is no longer physically present in their lives.

But Johnny's story isn't only about loss.

It's also about discovering that absence doesn't necessarily mean love is gone.
